Here at St. Andrew the Apostle, we take our teens seriously. Each and every one of them is unique, unrepeatable, and irreplicable gifts that we are privileged to serve. Middle School MinistryOur 6th-8th Grade ministry, Quest, uses multiple resources such as Life Teen, FORMED, Ascension Press, Augustine Institute, and more. Within the context of faith formation, these youth are moving from a childlike spirituality to one that will hopefully grow into a mature faith commitment to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
At this age, 6th-8th Grade students are open to good and bad behaviors and ideas they may hear out in the world. Many of the values and beliefs that they held as children are now questioned and challenged. These adolescents are on a quest to figure out who they are and what they believe.
It can be a very stressful and difficult time for them and their parents. As a Catholic community, we join the middle school teens on their quest to show them the way to Jesus Christ and his Church.
Quest includes sacrament preparation for 6th-8th Grade students who have not received all Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Eucharist, Confirmation). Per Diocesan policy, sacrament preparation is a minimum two-year journey. However, it is also contingent upon the individual candidate's spiritual journey and may take longer at the discretion of the pastor and his youth ministers.

Why Is Middle School Important?
Middle School Ministry answers the needs of this age group in a catechetical, fun, and relevant way and provides a foundation for youth to continue onto our High School Ministry with the program known as Life Teen.
We all remember that middle school was awkward and difficult. That hasn’t changed. However, societal shifts have made the middle school years more difficult than ever. Today, middle school youth are having experiences that were common only with high school students just 15 years ago.
Threats of violence, availability of drugs and alcohol, and pervasiveness of sex and pornography are the new norm. Not only are they faced with these tough realities, but they are also in the process of moving from being family-centered to friend-centered. Peers gain greater influence and parental authority is called into question.
As they shift socially, they are also experiencing tremendous changes emotionally and intellectually. As they wade through all the difficulties of this time of life, they have real questions and need real answers. If church leaders ignore the unique challenges of their middle school youth, they risk losing them forever.

High School Ministry
Our High School Ministry uses the program called Life Teen that provides Faith Formation opportunities for 9th to 12th School Students. The goal of Life Teen is to create an environment to lead teens into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. It speaks to teens on all levels: emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual.
The Life Nights falls under one of three categories: catechetical, issue, or social. The primary objective is to encourage teens to realize a deeper relationship with Christ and to challenge them to live their faith as they carry out their daily lives. Teens experience this sharing in an atmosphere of love and acceptance from their peers and the adult leaders who are there to assist them in their journey.Session Times
- Beginning in September, Life Teen is held on Sundays; 12:15pm-1:45pm through April.

Food Sign-Up
We are grateful for our families who help to provide snacks and beverages for QUEST (Wednesdays 5:15-6:15pm; 6th-8th Grade) or meals, snacks, and beverages for Life Teen (Sundays, 12:15-1:45pm; 9th-12th Grade) teens are always hungry! Multiple families are able to sign up per night, and we encourage our families not to overthink what to provide. Think bulk and easy! Ex. Sloppy Joes, Enchiladas, Pizza, Chips, Water, etc.

Bench Restoration & Beautification Project
Teens working on the St. Andrew Bench Restoration and Beautification ProjectOur teens have completed the project to renew our parish courtyard by providing some much needed tlc for our benches. Our benches have been sanded and painted for a fresh new look. Be sure to visit our photo album for this project by scrolling down to Photo Albums on this page.
You can support the teens by helping to provide food for our high school ministry program Life Teen, through monetary donations (for retreats, session supplies, Catholic materials, etc), or by taking time to say hello to one of our young people and affirming their hard work.

8th-12th Grade Spring Retreat
Catholics are invited to embrace the Real Presence of Jesus so we can experience grace and be present to others as Eucharistic people. We need self-knowledge and openness to how the Holy Spirit presents ways to minister to others. Yet, in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it can be difficult to find time for reflection and service. This retreat offers high school teens the opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and those around them while having a blast so we can experience and be a real presence.
