St. Andrew the Apostle is now a member of "CARITAS", the new valley wide Catholic Coalition. The coalition includes various Catholic parishes, schools and faith organizations. The coalition was put together to continue to assist Habitat for Humanity in their efforts to build housing for those in need.
In addition, one of the benefits is the opportunity to work alongside various other CARITAS volunteers during many of our build dates. It is our hope that as time moves forward more Catholic interests will come forward and join this coalition to assist us all. Currently, the Catholic coalition is comprised of the following partners in addition to St. Andrew: St. Patrick, the Casa (Franciscan Renewal Center).
Our coalition build for 2023 is currently underway and is expected to be completed in June.
There will be a second collection for Habitat on the 2 nd week of June, July and August. Please be sure to pick up an envelope marked “Habitat” and make your checks payable to “Habitat for Humanity.”
Habitat for Humanity is not a giveaway program, it is a ‘hand up, not a hand out’. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.
